Yesterday I watched a couple of young adults go to my neighbor's house. Then my neighbor got a tow strap out of his shed and he and the 2 other guys got in his work truck and headed out in the hills by my house. This would be a good time to say that we had a covering of wet snow yesterday and things were muddy. When they stopped out in the boonies, I could see the top half of the neighbor's truck but no other vehicle. They were far enough away that I couldn't really see what they were doing. He moved his truck a time or 2 and I saw them walking around. They were out there for some time and I did not watch the entire time. Anyway, soon I noticed the neighbor walking to his house. Soon another truck was out there, but he parked a safe distance from my neighbor's stuck truck. Soon 2 more trucks went racing out there. They were probably there for close to an hour. The neighbor's truck got moved far enough that I could only see the long anteana on it. By now it is close to getting dark. I don't know what the situation was out there, but I do know that it couldn't be good. I'm thinking that they should get chained up and then just wait a couple of hours for the frost to set in and it would be much easier to get out. Soon the trucks that were not stuck left from up there and my neighbor came home. I heard them leave a while later and soon heard the neighbor's truck drive up. I'm anxious to go see the new sink holes that they created.
A few years ago some kids got a truck stuck out there in a bog. They ended up with a tractor stuck and finally called a tow truck to get them all out. It seems to me that if someone is stuck in the mud, maybe you shouldn't drive out to rescue them.
I did feel bad for my neighbor who was trying to help them out and got himself in a big mess.

I'm just glad that you weren't one of the people out in the mud. That was very kind of you to stay out of the way!
