I survived my 1st day of work. I worked for 3 1/2 hrs and contacted 2 people. I told you were getting lots quicker at filling in our questionnaires. We went to several motels here in town looking for long term residents. Most of the time, it ended up only being the owner or manager and most of them had received a Census in the mail and returned it.
We stayed as a group but paired off and took turns with 2 people going in and doing the interviews. Then when we just had little motels left, she assigned group leaders and gave each of them 2 people and then I was left over. My crew leader told me I was going with her. She said that she could tell that I knew what I was doing so I was going with her and working by myself.
Tomorrow we are off to Wells and Wendover.

I'm so excited that you're doing this actually! You should be proud that I already mailed mine in...yup...you inspired me!!! I guess you'll have to do this next decade too :D
Wow!! What an accomplishment, to be trusted alone on your first big assignment. So proud of you!! But seriously, glad things are going well.
