A few pictures

Here are a few select pictures for today. I will try to post some others before too long.

This is our tent. It really is nicer than it looks on the outside. Guess I'll have to send pictures of the inside later. Yep, we both fit very comfortably in there.

Some of you will be surprised to hear that Mike gave away the Scout. A couple of guys he works with are so excited to get it and fix it up. I tried to get rid of the dogs too, but the guys wouldn't take them. Dang!

This is today (Day 12). Bill got all the problems from yesterday fixed. The city has strick rules on drainage. It will cause some extra head-aches for Bill and extra work but everything is going to work out. We have to dig a deep hole and then use that dirt to fill up to the sides of the foundation on the outside. We'll have to put in a retaining wall and a drainage set up for the water to drain to my back yard. Watch for photos. For now, my yard is going to be one very, big dirt pile.

This is the last picture of our family picture tree. We planted this tree about 17 years ago and took pictures of the kids by it on the 1st day of school. Then we figured that it was the best photo back drop that we had so many family pictures were taken with our beloved tree. Bill promised me from day 1 that I would be able to keep the tree, but it just wasn't meant to be. We will start a new family picture tree for the grandkids.
The rope is tied to the 4-wheeler. Mike cut on the tree and then had me pull it over with the 4-wheeler. We ran into a bit of a problem. The tree didn't want to give up. The 4-wheeler was pulling and the tree was pulling back. Mike told me to give it some gas, so I did. I did a BIG wheelie. And I didn't have my helmet on. Mike was watching the tree and missed my wheelie. I did not repeat it for him. (Molly, you would have been proud, but I only had 2 wheels off the ground. But they were higher up than yours were.) Molly took my 4-wheeler out and was doing jumps on it.

This is my trench. It goes all the way across the front and across the other side. They have it 3/4 done. But they have to dig all the dirt out in between too. And then pile it somewhere.
We were told today (unofficially) that our house will be ready to ship out next Tues. Of course we won't be ready for it for a couple more weeks but I'm glad that it is ready. Now I just hope that Elko remembers that we are in the driest state in the nation and that we don't have a wet spring this year. (At least not yet.)
I will post more photos soon.
