Bill came by this morning. And after he waited around for a couple of hours his laborers showed up, Bo and Clint, his sons. They measured and drove a stake at each of the corners. Then we ran into a problem. We didn't have as much clearance on the sides that we should have. So they measured across our whole yard and from fence to fence, it measures 56 feet. Too bad we paid for a lot that is 60 feet wide and that is what we were planning on. I'm sure the problem is with the neighbors above us. If we took that 4 feet from them, they would lose their parking area. This mess isn't their problem either. Guess it just turns into less yard work to do. I hope we can have a little lawn somewhere. And we have a big pine tree in the back yard. We thought we would be able to keep it. But after staking it out, the corner of the house goes right to the edge of the tree. We would have to trim some of the lower branches to get the house in there. But then we couldn't have access to drive into our back yard. So the tree has to go. The smaller tree in the front was 2 trips to the dump. This one will be 4 trips easy. And then we will have to bring in a bunch of fill to make the property level where the house is. Why does everything have to get complicated? Oh well. It will all work out and one day we will be out of this tent and in the house. Meanwhile, it isn't that bad. I promise.
