Happy Easter! I talked to Isaac a couple of times on the phone this weekend. He was so excited. I couldn't understand most of what he said but he kept talking about Hop Hop. He was just a little excited about the visit from the Easter Bunny. I hear that the Easter Bunny visited Jami in the hospital. Many years ago I spent an Easter in the hospital and the the Easter bunny didn't visit me. In fact, the Easter bunny didn't visit us this year either. Guess the Easter Bunny didn't realize that we are living in this camper.
Here are a few more pictures from the construction work in my front yard. I am hoping that we get a break in the weather the end of this week so my house can make it here.
This was Friday. Clint must have drawn the short straw to get this job. He said that they usually don't use the pump truck and the mix was wetter than they expected making the job very messy. The poor guy. A couple of times he took a break and washed his face. This was pretty early in the morning so he had to work most of the day before he could go shower.

You need to click on this picture to enlarge it. This is how I spent the day Friday. Somebody had to supervise to make sure everything was done correctly. Tues when they poured I stayed way back by the camper out of the way. But with the high walls, I couldn't see anything back there so I moved up for a good view.

Mike was watching the concrete dry. He kept a pretty close eye to everything that was going on also.

I have never seen a wheel barrow used for this purpose. Looks like a good idea to me.

I had to make Mike leave so he wouldn't distract my hired help. They were talking about filling in my house foundation with water and putting bass fish in there and going fishing. Bill told me that I could keep living the my camper. I told him that I don't think so.

As soon as they got done pouring the cement, it started raining. We have plenty of marks in our concrete from the rain drops dancing on my new floor. I wanted to leave my hand print, but it would have been very difficult for me to get over the stem wall forms. I will find a place to leave my hand print.

I consulted an engineer (in training) about how to design my yard to protect my house and cars from the cars that slide down the road in front of our house. Over the 20 yrs that we have lived here there have been twice that we have had major damage done to vehicles parked in our driveway. And numerous other times when we have had fender benders from other vehicles and a few times when we have had to move our vehicles so another vehicle could get down the hill without hitting us. After much brain power, my engineer friend suggested a mote. Here is the beginning of my mote.
It also shows you the small amount of space that Mike had to back the camper through. And after he got across this then he had a very small amount of room to get the camper back out of the way. There was the huge pile of dirt that didn't leave him much room. And he only kinda ran into the hole once. He did really good. I couldn't have pulled the camper out of there going forward.
