It's my Friday (sort of)

I get tomorrow off to help Mike do some cleaning up around the yard. I wanted to ease you into the let-down of no census stories tomorrow, but I have a couple of good ones today. Don't be too down hearted, I will work Sat and probably a few hrs Fri.

Yesterday I went to a round house. I have seen a few of them around and always wondered what they look like inside. The whole time I was walking to the door, I was saying, "They'd better be home, because I really want to see the inside of this house." Then the lady answered and she invited me in before I even had a chance to barge in there on my own. There are some straight walls on the outside, therefore on the inside also. She said that the house is larger than it looks. It had 5 bedrooms and it did not look that big. It had a basement and an upstairs. She said the biggest challenge was that you cannot hang pictures on the slanted walls.

We had an interesting day today. We were very busy all day, but didn't get as many forms filled in as normal. We went to a ranch. That was fun. We were there a total of 1 hr. We had to wait 15-20 min for the cowboys to come in with the cow they were rounding up. Then my co-worker completed a questionnaire. We learned that someone else lived on the property in another residence. So I interviewed him. Then I had to find the proper protocol for adding someone not listed. And then I had to go ask him a couple more questions. But I knew exactly what to do when we needed to add someone else a couple of hours later.

Our FOS (field office supervisor) has 13 CLs (crew leaders) and over 200 employees.
