Beware of Dogs

I got a call at 8 AM today. I was loading up my car to go to a work meeting. It was someone wanting me to ask them census questions. And to make it even better. This was one that I was having so much trouble tracking down. YES! (Her neighbor, my other tough one was home Sat so I got him done too).  So my day was off to a GREAT start and then............

I got to my meeting and we have some procedural changes. Nothing new there, they change things every day. Now if we go to a house and see that it is obviously vacant, we still have to make 3 visits and leave a notice saying we were there and asking them to call us. And this is so funny. If when we get there, our notice is still in the door, we are to take it out and put a new one in there. They are not dated or anything like that so there is absolutely no difference between the one you take out and the new one you put in. Go figure!

I was assigned 6 ranch houses to go to now. They are about 2 hrs away. If no one is home, I can drive back at least 2 more times and then the next time I go, I can try to get some information from someone else. I'm a bit frustrated with the total waste of money.

Last Friday there were 3 incidents in our area, so we are not allowed to go out by ourselves any more. They all happened within 10 minutes of each other. Someone was attacked. It sounds like the perpetrator yelled and them and took their form and tore it up and grabbed their arm. No real harm, but of course charges will be pressed. Another worker fell down. And then a guy in my group got attacked by a dog. He and his wife go together. A huge dog came racing out of the door. The husband ran to get between the dog and his wife. The dog bite him in his side and chest and tried to pull him down. Then it got a hold of his hand and tried to pull him down. If it had been his wife instead of him, I'm sure she would be in the hospital having plastic surgery on my face. The guy was out working again the next day.

The poor guy just about got it by another dog today. He is working out in Ryndon. I guess everyone has dogs to guard their places. I won't be working in Ryndon.

Stay tuned for my adventures of hunting down ranch houses.

Tell that guy who got attacked by the dog that he can file a claim against that homeowner's insurance (if they have it) and will get paid maximum of hte liability. We, for instance, carry $500,000 on our homeowner's insurance! I always tell Kevin if a dog looks like it's gonna bit...LET IT! :-) Also, the phone call I got and returned from the US Census Bureau....just follow up questions. Nothing wrong with my form.
