mystery

When I was staying with Lance and Molly, I slept on the couch. One night we all went to bed and all the lights were turned off. I woke up during the night and the kitchen light was on. I thought that was odd, but knew there must be some reason "they" turned it on so I left it. The next time I woke up, the light was off. The next day I made some comment about the light. They accused me of turning it on. It sounds to me like someone was sleep walking, but who was it?

The boys get to choose a song to sing before bedtime. There is no need to even ask Mark what his song is. It is ALWAYS the Ox Cart Song. And just before you finish singing it, he starts saying, "Again." My record was singing it 4 times for him. The first couple of days after I got home, that song kept running through my mind.

We were driving someplace with all 3 boys in the back seat. Mark was singing Jingle Bells and of course he finished it with "HEY". Molly asked him not to yell. I had to explain to her that he was singing Jingle Bells and we all know how the song ends. That boy is always loud.

While I am on a roll, I will share my first impressions of the boys on this visit. If you are tired of Simmons Boyz stories, it's time for you to stop reading.

When I saw Nathan he was all swaddled up. All I could see was his head. His face was round and his cheeks chunky. The next morning when I saw him with his body attached, his face didn't look so chunky. Molly said that he went from the 50th percentile to the 75th percentile between 2 dr visits. And that was before he discovered the yummy cereal he has started eating. Go Nathan.

Mark surprised me with how much he talks. He uses his original rendition of the English language and after a couple of days, I had most of the words down. It will be nice when someone finds his volumn knob. Right now it is loud or louder. I was real proud of him. He has called me ma-ma. Molly says that sometimes you could tell a difference from it and ma-ma as in mom. By the time I left, he was calling me gaw-ma. Good job Mark.

And now for Isaac. I was impressed that he speaks in sentences. He is lots of fun to talk with. And he already loves "Knock, knock" jokes. He is learning lots of primary songs and I never tire of listening to him sing. Keep up the good work, Isaac.

Well I start work with the census again tomorrow. I have 4 days of training. The first day will be finger prints and paperwork. Boring. Then I'm guessing that more than half of the rest of training will be repetitious. I guess I'd better get to bed early so I can stay awake tomorrow.
